A historical documentary that delves into the forgotten stories of African American athletes that have changed the face of sports.

It's a history of personal struggles, perseverence, and accomplishment that spans more than 200 years

PART 1 OF A SERIES ENTITLED

"REMARKABLE STORIES OF TRIUMPH ARISING OUT OF TRAGEDY"

Part 1 rides along with the Negro Leagues whileon the road back in the day. What was it like playing in 16 cities in just 20 days? These are stories told first hand ...stories of injustice & segregation, but also the fun they had playing the game they loved, and paving the way for future generations.

These stories are being produced by Post Impressions together with Larry Lester of the Negro Leagues Hall of Fame, and Dr. Bob Allen Negro League historian.

We have over 350 hours of intereviews with the original Negro Leaguers, many of whom of passed on in additionn to archival footage.

THIS IS A STORY OF HEROISM, COURAGE AND PERSEVERENCE. A STORY ABOUT BASEBALL AND A TRAGIC SHOOTING THAT INSTANTLY AND SHOCKINGLY ENDED THE CAREER OF FORMER AMERICAN LEAGUE UMPIRE STEVE PALERMO.

It is also a compelling, magical love story chronicling the long, painful struggles Steve and Debbie endured following the horrific events of July 7, 1991, when Steve was shot in the back while coming to the aid of two women being mugged outside a Dallas restaurant.

In addition to several 1991 television news reports, home movies, scrapbooks and family photos, the documentary will feature Nolan Ryan, Bob Costas, Fay Vincent, Curt Shilling, Bobby Valentine, Dave Righetti, Sandy Alderson and others - inside and outside of baseball - who will help tell the story of two amazing people who overcame seemingly impossible odds because they refused to admit defeat.
